When his wife gave birth to a boy, Shankar Jaikishen saw an immediate window of opportunity to provide his son with that extra bit of chutzpah which he could encash later on in life – he named him Michael.
Shankarjee knew as much about music as a monkey with a typewriter knows about Shakespeare! Young Michael though was more interested in moonlighting masculine detectives rather than in moon-walking singer-dancers of indeterminate colour and gender.
Shankarjee passed away due to unspeakable reasonsand Michael was now the master of his father’s fortune much before than he should have been otherwise. It was then that he realised that he had bypassed most of what is commonly termed as a formal education.
So he did the only thing he could do. He wrote a detective novel.
Michael Shankar Jaikishen had become a star overnight.
And then the woes of his life began one by one.
It had started soon after the unexpected success of his first novel.
