Nostalgia is replaced by convenience – Why e reading is almost a compulsion

So last week I was travelling to a new destination in Europe. A foreign city, absolutely alien language and a drastically different culture. So, after I was almost done packing, I realised there is hardly any room to carry my favourite travel companion – Books ! And it struck me, how wonderful & convenient e books can be? I quickly subscribed to Kindle Unlimited & there you go…almost every notable Indian author’s book was available with the subscription & a few classics too!

Frankly, I have never been a fan of reading e-books. I don’t even own a kindle device and so far I had only browsed through a few sample chapters on the Kindle mobile application. I mean what can beat the fresh smell of a new book, the crackling sound of turning a page and the much needed escape from  ‘the screen time’? But this time, convenience was just a little more important than nostalgia. “It was time for me to flash some e books” 🙂

So , do you feel like joining me too?  It will be super cool. Really.

Here’s the list of all the books that we can give you in e-book formats only, in exchange of honest reviews. And guess what we have also decided to 2X the standard rewards points this time.

So what are you waiting for? Grab your copy. Now!

Are you stuck in a job you don’t love? Are you made to do flunky work in office? Do you struggle to balance work and life? Do you want to quit your job and start a business of your own? Do you wonder about the meaning of love and life?If these questions apply to you, then this book is for you.

This book is a collection of 10 contemporary short stories based on the corporate world and life in general. Although these stories are a work of fiction, they capture real life situations and dilemmas that I have seen and faced.

Each story is aimed to leave the reader with a message. I believe these can help you answer the above questions. If not, I have tried my best to keep the stories as humorous and entertaining as possible.

As Siobhan discovers the fate of her soul, she learns that hidden within the pages of her mother’s confession is part of The Devil’s Prayer, an ancient text with the power to unleash apocalyptic horrors.

“The Times of India ran a short story contest between July, 2015 and May, 2016.  Eleven of India’s best selling authors were requested to provide a prompt (one each month) based on which a short story was to be submitted.  This short story collection comprises the authors’ submission for each prompt.  The short stories submitted cover a range of genres: historical fiction, drama, humour, relationships, current affairs.  The author in some instances has tried to give an innovative twist to the prompts, trying to lead the short story away from the direction the prompts indicate.  The Times of India is proposing to conduct a Season 2 of the Write India Campaign.  This collection should give a taste to aspiring authors of the range and scope of the Campaign, and hopefully encourage them to participate in the same.  Further details can be ascertained on the Write India Campaign website.”

shikhaI turned 36 this year ( and I am not shy to reveal my age ). Initial months of 2016 was when I decided that it’s high time that I put my personal goal into action, and I started working on this piece. When you are 18, you are free to take your decisions and venture into a new horizon.Probably for me, the second innings of 18 enabled me to work on my dream project.
That’s how this title came into being and the flash stories !
