Dormant StateYou have come across many bankers , engineers , journalists penning down their novels. But how many times do you get to read books by Army Officers? This combination of uniform and a pen is damn hard to find.

Major Dibya Satpathy , is a serving officer in the Indian Army. He belongs to the coastal state of Odisha and is deeply passionate about his state. It took him almost 5 years to complete this book amidst his professional commitments as an Army Officer. He strongly believes, passion drives us to find time for  anything and everything amidst our busy lives !

The Book – Dormant State  is a political fiction based on few contemporary events that his generation has lived through. The events are woven around a fictional character and their struggle in the murkier world of electoral politics. The plot is enticing with its share of twists and turns.

Aniruddh the protagonist is a non-conforming, spirited, unorthodox young man, bound by the shackles of tradition. He experiences the gruesome realities of governance in the country. His youthful exuberance and provocative circumstances leave him with no option but to take on the system. On entering the murky world of politics, he is forced to confront with evils, which he hadn’t bargained for. The events in his life leave his relationships at peril as he lurches along the forlorn lanes of insecurity. His transformation from an honest novice mutineer to a guile political leader brings out the layers in his character. Amidst strained relations, friendships that turn ugly and back-stabbing foes, Aniruddh has to govern a dormant state and win over the masses. It is a gripping tale of sinister moves that end up bringing out the devil in a moment of self adjudication.
Readers would connect with the events that has been picked up from real incidents that shaped the recent socio -political structure of our generation. The plot itself would be interesting enough to keep the readers glued to it.
