Melonade

The nationwide writing competition
Melonade is our “flagship event” one of the most ambitious initiative by Writersmelon perhaps. It is a country wide creative writing competition which is held during the annual festival in colleges.  Melonade is a great platform for the budding and aspiring writers from the campuses and aims at rejuvenating the writing enthusiasm and encourage all the poets who rhyme in their secret diaries and bloggers who blog in their solitude.

Melonade'1 & Melonade'2 : Was conducted in association popular college fests which gave us a very wide participation. The competition saw entries from more than 50 participants from very reputed colleges in India and also from some international bloggers.

The participation in Melonade'1 was complemented by great mentorship from a foreign debutant author “KARL Vadazsaffy” who judged the event along with a panel of Indian avid readers. The event was concluded by declaring three winners who received cash prizes. But the greater source of motivation was the author signed copies of Karl’s book “Full of Sin” straight from UK.

In its second incarnation Melonade became more ‘desi’ with the Melonade Judge -  Arnab Ray the popular blogger, also known as “the great bong”. His first book, “May I Hebb Your Attention Pliss” is a comical satire on various facets of the society and the next book "The Mine" ventures into a completely different genre of horror/thriller. We started getting good entries and our association with the literary world started growing.
